MFEC Reinforces Its ESG Commitment Through Data Discovery Technology to Effectively Manage Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions
MFEC reinforces its commitment to ESG by leveraging Data Discovery technology, developed as part of its proprietary Digital Sustainability solution, to efficiently monitor and manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This initiative has enabled MFEC to successfully undergo verification and officially register its Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) for the year 2024 with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).
Managing Greenhouse Gas Emissions with Data Discovery
One of the key challenges in environmental management is the collection and processing of GHG emissions data from various organizational activities, including direct emissions (Scope 1) such as fuel consumption in vehicles, and indirect emissions (Scope 2) from electricity usage. This challenge is particularly significant for large organizations with multiple business units.
Traditional data management methods—such as Excel-based tracking or fragmented data storage—often result in delayed assessments, higher risks of inaccuracies, and excessive manpower required solely for report preparation.
To address these challenges, MFEC has integrated Data Discovery technology, embedded within its Digital Sustainability solution, into its sustainability operations. This integration significantly enhances the accuracy and efficiency of tracking, analyzing, and reporting GHG data. The system is capable of automatically ingesting data from internal systems and operational files, categorizing emission sources such as electricity, vehicles, and building systems, visualizing carbon emissions through dashboards, and generating reports in compliance with TGO standards quickly and accurately.
In 2025, MFEC expanded the scope of GHG monitoring to include Scope 3 emissions, covering supply chain activities such as employee commuting, procurement, and service delivery. This expansion aims to enable MFEC to systematically and sustainably plan and implement carbon reduction initiatives, fully supported by its Digital Sustainability solution.
Carbon Footprint Verification Results – 2024
Following compliance with TGO standards and verification by an independent consultant, MFEC has been officially certified and registered for its 2024 Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO), with the following GHG emission results:
- Scope 1 (Direct): 33 tonCO₂e/year
- Scope 2 (Indirect): 285 tonCO₂e/year
- Scope 3 (Other Indirect): 1,418 tonCO₂e/year
Registration Date: June 24, 2025
Assurance Level: Limited Assurance (Materiality 5%)
Driving Climate Strategy Toward Net Zero
Carbon measurement is only the starting point. MFEC integrates these results into its long-term carbon reduction planning and its journey toward Net Zero Emissions. Key strategic initiatives include improving energy efficiency in buildings and data centers, collaborating with supply chain partners to manage Scope 3 emissions, expanding GHG monitoring systems to enable real-time alerts, and continuously integrating CFO data into ESG policy planning.
MFEC as a Tech-Driven ESG Enabler
Using technology to support carbon reduction is not merely an option—it is at the core of building a sustainable business. MFEC remains committed to advancing technology-driven solutions and enhancing transparency in GHG management, ensuring that every step forward aligns with its Climate Action mission.
